Since our trip to California, Nick and I have been really busy and have been going through some really difficult things in our personal life which is why we haven’t blogged about our exercise of the week and other things through the rest of May. We are so lucky to have the love and support of our family and friends to be able to get through such a trying time, but we’ve taken some time for ourselves to regroup and thinking about the silver lining.
On a happier note, here’s a quick run down of what we’ve been up to through photos from my iPhone and G9 camera:
1. Picnic in the Park at Leslie Groves with a bunch of friends
2. Rewards and Recognition Banquet-Last year we missed out on the R&R Banquet because my grandpa passed away, but this year we were able to make it. Nick and his co-workers received their Waterford crystal for the contributions and commercialization of their software UPA and Inspire. Here are some photos of the banquet and food we ate.
I had the steak option and Nick had the salmon…the steak was better
This was the appetizer and it was delicious! It was mini lamb lollipops with different sauces.
Chocolate cup with a chocolate mousse
Some friends I know got an FLC award which was awesome
Nick and his new bowl, we’ll have to add it to the collection
3. We’ve been playing an obscene amount of Settlers of Catan…it sounds nerdy but it is far from it. It is a strategy game that has similar tactics to Risk and Monopoly. You have to get bricks, ore, wheat, wood and sheep to purchase roads, cities and settlements then the person who gets to a certain number of points wins. We have bought the expansion and extension packs. If you haven’t played we will teach you. We’ve been playing it mostly with Jenny, Kevin, Susie, Dan, Nat and James.
This version involved camels and since Susie was gone Kevin represented team green and won that night.
